What is an Alert?
An alert is simply a warning meant to alert you to people or situations that may be dangerous to you.
When we receive a NUM Report it will be moderated and risk assessed by the Team and sanitised to form an alert. This will then be posted onto the ‘Alerts’ part of the website. We will also assess the risk level of the alert. So, for example, ‘High Risk’ alerts or those with ‘Highly Mobile’ offenders will be displayed to all members. Other alerts will be organised by ‘Region’.
The alerts will also be emailed or sent by SMS to members who have opted-in to get them this way. If it is a ‘High Risk’ offender, emails/SMSs will go to all members of the scheme who have opted-in - likewise with ‘Highly Mobile’ offenders. In other cases, emails will be sent to members by ‘Region’. All members will be able to search current and past alerts and will be able to access alerts from all regions.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO RESTRICTIONS IN CHARACTERS, ALL SMS ALERTS WILL BE SHORTENED AND MAY INCLUDE ABBREVIATIONS SO WE WOULD ADVISE MEMBERS TO LOG ONTO THE WEBSITE IF THERE IS AN ALERT RELEVANT TO THEM.
